Digg.com Celebrates Its Millionth User Account - Spammy Anyone?!

March 20th, 2007 by Kev

Digg recently announced that they recently achieved their 1,000,000 registered user. Does this seem spammy? I think so. I myself have at least 15 accounts on digg, even though I don’t use them all very often. Some guy might have over 50 accounts designed for spamming purposes.

The problem with Digg is that everyone is creating multiple accounts. People sign up with all of their freemail accounts so that they can Digg their own submissions.

Well done Digg. But wouldn’t be a lot nicer if you had 100,000 confirmed accounts that can be traced back to unique users? But, hey, how’s any one going to verify Digg users? :) A rhetorical question, I guess.
